U12 Boys

Our U12 Boys had three games last week beginning with a Division 5 game away to Kilbride. The host team fielded a strong side and were convincing winners on the evening.

The second game saw our Division 1 team in action against Clan na Gael at Johnstown on Friday evening. The lads put in a very good first half performance and were well in the game but the home side finished better in the second half to close out the match.

For our final game of the week we travelled to Boyle in a Division 5 encounter. This game proved to be a very tough match for our lads against an incredibly powerful and formidable Boyle outfit who won the game comfortably.

We have two home games scheduled for this week firstly against Padraig Pearses on Monday evening in Division 5 and on Saturday our Division 1 team play Boyle.

Junior A Championship

St. Brigid's 2-10, Kilglass Gaels 2-8.

Our junior side recorded another great win in the championship over Kilglass on Sunday last in Ballyleague. St. Brigid's were very slow to get going and weren't in the game in the first half, going in at half time 5 points down, 1-6 to 4 points. However St. Brigid's came out strong in the second half and thanks to two well taken penalties by Brian Derwin and some great points by Brian, Donnacha, Eamon and Joey Brigid's held on to secure a two point win.

Retirement
Last Friday marked the end of an era for St. Brigid's GAA Club as our long standing caretaker and Supervisor of our CE Scheme, PJ Fallon retired. Pj has been a constant in the club for more years than we can remember. Pj has put his heart and soul in to our club and without his hard work and attention to detail the club as we know it today would not be.
On behalf of St. Brigid's I would like to wish Pj all the very best for his retirement and sincerely thank Pj for all his magnificent work and service to the club.

We will have a get together in the clubhouse on Friday 8th September to help ease Pj into retirement. All are welcome to come along.
