St.Brigid’s GAA Club Notes 11th May 2014

Crime Fitness 

For women and men all fitness levels, it consists of Circuit training, Resistance training, Interval training, Military circuits and Endurance training. All newcomers are free on the first night and its 5 euro per session after that, pay as you go. Mondays and Thursday 7-8 pm in St. Brigids Clubhouse. Club Rossie 

The Club Rossie Draw has being deferred for three weeks so there is still plenty of time to purchase tickets either from Helen Leonard 086-8229604 or on the Club Rossie website clubrossie.ie.  Thank you for all your support to date and good luck in the draw.

 

Zumba Classes

Zumba classes continue this Thursday in the clubhouse for both men and women from 8-9pm. Classes costs €50 for 7 classes. Everyone is welcome to come along. 

 

Handball

 

Handball training is now on every Friday (as at 9th May 2014) in St Brigids club Hall complex for all ages  (no training in Curraghboy Handball complex until further notice ) :

 

8Yrs to 10Yrs - Boys and Girls, 11Yrs to 13Yrs - Boys and Girls, 11Yrs to 13Yrs - Boys and Girls from 7 pm – 8:15 pm

 

Please note that Handball goggles must be worn by all participating. New members always welcome.    

 

The handball training will be finishing in the next few weeks.

 

Nursery Programme

The nursery programme continues every Saturday at 11am in the clubhouse. New members welcome.

U-12s: The U-12 squad recorded an overall aggregate win in the three games played away to Corofin on Friday last as part of the Easyfix tournament. Well done to all the players for putting in a great performance.

Our Pieta House sponsored U16 Girls team were defeated by Kilmore in the Division 3B final last Monday 5th May

This has been a great year for the U 16 panel and we are all very proud of the effort put in by the players. A special mention to our mentors Brenda Gallagher, Grace O'Brien, Joanne Martin, Aine Kelly, Seamus Gallagher  for their excellent work during the year and also thanks to Shane Curran for taking sessions with the girls. We look forward to seeing the girls playing with the U14 and minors in the coming months

Our EMC sponsored U14 Girls team were defeated St. Ciarans in Fuerty in the first round of the league last Wednesday 7th May

Final Score 5-13 to 3-0

This is a great start to the league and most of the team are fresh from their exploits at U16 and it has really stood to them. As the team prepare for Feile on the coming weeks, it is vital that all players are fully committed to their coaches.

Our Collins Spar and GFS sponsored U12 Girls team defeated St. Ciarans in Kiltoom in the third round of the championship last Sunday 4th May.

The team are building great momentum in the championship have improved their skill level in the last number of weeks

 

U-8/U-10 update

Our U 8 and 10 girls are doing fantastic work following on from a great winter programme. We urge new mentors to help out at this age group to further develop the fantastic work been done.

Our MNKDA Consulting Engineers sponsored U8s and 10s train every Monday night from 7-8
