St.Brigid’s GAA Club Notes 4th May 2014

For women and men all fitness levels, it consists of Circuit training,Resistance training, Interval training, Military circuits and Endurance training. All newcomers are free on the first night and its 5 euro per session after that, pay as you go. Mondays and Thursday 7-8 pm in St. Brigids Clubhouse. We would like to congratulate the Roscommon Senior Ladies team on winning the Division 4 League on Saturday last in Tullamore. 

Commiserations to the u21’s after their loss to Dublin.



Club Rossie 

The Club Rossie Draw has being deferred for three weeks so there is still plenty of time to purchase tickets either from Helen Leonard 086-8229604 or on the Club Rossie website  thank you for all your supportto date and good luck in the draw.


Zumba Classes

Zumba classes continue this Thursday in the clubhouse for both men and women from 8-9pm. Classes costs €50 for 7 classes. Everyone is welcome to come along.

Handball training is on every Sunday in Curraghboy handball complex and every Friday in St Brigids club Hall. 


8Yrs to 10Yrs - Boys and Girls, 11am to 12 Noon (Curraghboy handball complex) 

11Yrs to 13Yrs - Boys and Girls, 12 Noon to 1pm (Curraghboy handball complex) 

11Yrs to 13Yrs - Boys and Girls, 7 – 8:30 (Fridays only – one wall - St Brigids club Hall) 


Please note that Handball goggles must be worn by all participating. New members always welcome.

Senior Ladies Championship Round 1


St Brigid’s vs Strokestown, Saturday 10th May at 6pm in Kiltoom


U12 Girls Championship


St.Brigid’s vs Padraig Pearses, Sunday 11th May at 6pm in Woodmount.


U12 Girls


Our Collins Spar and GFS sponsored u12’s have won 2 matches and lost 1 in the championship so far. They play Padraig Pearses in Woodmount on Sunday next at 6pm.



Training continues for all grades from U8s to Senior. Players will be notified of any changes to normal training times. We are always welcoming new members. Training schedules or further information on St. Brigids Ladies GAA contact 086 0876933.

Training for U 14 and U 16 girls continueson Tuesday evening at 7:30 at pitch. Training for U 12 girls continue on Thursday evening at 8 at the clubhouse. Training for U8s & U10s continues on Monday evening at 6.30 at clubhouse.

Minor and Senior Training from 8.30 on Saturday in clubhouse.


Team photographs


The Ladies Committee is aiming to put photographs of all winning Ladies teams down through the years on the clubhouse wall. Anyone who may be able to help with information on winning teams or may have photographs of relevant teams is asked to contact ladies Committee Chairman Tomás Beades.




Minors: Hard luck to the minor team who were narrowly defeated by Clann na nGael in the Division 1 league final on Thursday last on a scoreline of 1-11 to 2-6.


U-14s: The U-14s had a comprehensive win away to St Michael's on Thursday last in Cootehall.


U-12s: In the third round of the Easyfix league, St Brigid’s travelled to Annaghdown in Galway last Friday and recorded excellent victories against the home side. Well done to all the players who put in a tremendous performance.
