ST BRIGIDS MINOR COMMITTEE NOTES WEEK ENDING JULY 12TH 2015
Our U10's had a busy week beginning with the first round of the Tormey's Tournament played in Ballinasloe on Thursday evening last. Unfortunately on the evening both teams were defeated, the 10's played well up to half time with the aid of the breeze and only trailed by a couple of scores however in the second half Ballinasloe finished the stronger to win by a few scores. In the 9's match our lads took a well-deserved lead into half time with the wind advantage, but unfortunately with the home team fighting back strongly we lost by a single point right at the end. Well done to both teams who tried hard and were competitive right up to the end. Thanks to Brian Madden and his mentors for hosting us on the evening.
On Saturday morning we travelled to Johnstown for another round of the Go Games Blitz. We had two teams on the day and played five games in total with opposition made up of teams from Clan na Gael, St Dominics, Padraig Pearses and Roscommon Gaels. A big thank you to Mick Galvin and all his crew for a well organised blitz and refreshments provided afterwards.
