 Connacht Club Championship-Preliminary Round


St. Brigid’s vs Tourlestrane (Sligo), Sunday 27th October at 2pm in Dr. Hyde Park.

All roads lead to the Hyde on Sunday as St.Brigid’s begin their attempt to defend their Connacht title as they take on the Sligo Champions Tourlestrane. We are asking as many supporters as possible to come to the Hyde next Sunday and cheer on our lads. Also please get your flags and bunting up and show your support for our team.


First Annual International Sports Quiz


St. Brigid’s GAA Club are holding an International Sports Quiz in the Hodson Bay Hotel on Friday 29th November at 8pm. There are cash prizes with 1st price €3000, 2nd €2000 and 3rd €1000. It is €200 per team of four with the number of teams limited so please register on our website Registration closes on 15th November. For further information please contact: 0867857148.

The launch of this quiz will take place on Thursday night 24th October at 8pm in the Hodson Bay Hotel. We invite you to attend. 

Azzurri Jackets

We will be taking orders for the Adult Men and Women Azzurri Jackets on Thursday night 24th October 8-9pm.


Honouring of teams of the 50’s and 60’s 


We would like to thank everyone that attended this very successful and enjoyable night on Saturday last in the club. We had an excellent turn out and are especially grateful to those that travelled long distances to attend. Also thank you to Pat Dennehy, P.J. Martin and Sean Kilbride for their work in making this event so successful.


Nursery Programme


The Nursery Programme for all children from 4 to 7 years will start back on Saturday next at 11 am in St. Brigids Clubhouse. All new children are welcome to attend.

We are also looking for Transition year students to help out with this programme. If you are interested please contact Kieran on 0879093149.




We are looking for people to participate in Scor na nOg this year. As long as you are under the age of seventeen on 1st of January 2014 and you are interested in solo singing or saying a recitation this could be for you. The South Quarter Finals are on November 8th and 9th. For further information contact Helen on 0868229604.


Presentation nights


The Ladies and Minor Committees are holding their presentation nights on Friday, October 25th at 7pm for U-8s, U-10s and U-12s and Friday, November 8th at 7pm for U-14s, U-16s and U-18s. Full details to follow by text during the week. The committee will also be presenting every family with a Gaelic football to practice with at home.

Orders taken for adult Azzurri jackets (ladies and mens) in the centre from 8 to 9pm on Thursday October 24th.

U-12s: The Millmount Maintenance Services sponsored U-12s are scheduled to play their final game of the season against Ferbane this week. Players will be notified of full details during the week.


U-10s: The second last training session of the season for the Sheraton Hotel sponsored U-10s will take place this Wednesday, October 23rd at 7pm.


Presentation nights: The Minor Board Committee is holding the first of its two presentation nights this Friday, October 25th at 7pm for the U-8, U-10 and U-12 squads. The second presentation night for the U-14, U-16 and U-18 squads will take place on Friday, November 8th. In addition to the many medals and trophies presented on the evening, the committee will also be presenting every player with a Gaelic football to practice with at home.
