U-12 Boys League Final
Well done to the St Brigid’s team for capturing the Division 1 league title
following an impressive victory over St Ciaran’s on Sunday last at Ballyforan. Our lads won
comprehensively in the end but St Ciaran’s, even facing into a strong wind into
the first half, started the brighter and showed lots of intent in the early
stages. Our defence thankfully was rock solid during this period and once our
boys settled, they found their rhythm and carved out a fourteen point lead at
half-time. St Ciarans had the aid of the wind in the second half and battled
bravely but our lads pushed strongly for home. They outscored Ciaran's 5-2 to
1-3 after the break to secure some long-awaited silverware for this team. Well
done to every single player and a word of thanks to team manager, Padraig
Sugrue, coaches Enda Nugent, Johnny Doyle and Richard Canny for having the players
in great shape for the final. The following is the team and full squad who
featured on Sunday:
Kevin Derwin, Adam Donovan, Shane Daly, Liam Hennelly, Micheal Sugrue, Daniel
Meeley, Thomas O'Brien (capt.), Daniel Keenan, Ronan Doyle, Brian Nestor, Conor
Hand, Oisin Canny, Bobby Nugent, David Dolan James Goose, Jamie Curley, Harry
Griselain, James Rourke, Bryan Armstrong.
U-14 The division 1 team had a comprehensive victory over Boyle in the first round of the championship last while, while the division 4 side lost away to St. Croan's.
