Monster Auction Meeting

We are holding a meeting on Thursday night at 830pm in the club to being preparing for our monster auction to be held in October.  Anyone interested in getting involved is invited to attend. 

Golf Classic

We would like to thank everyone that participated in the golf classic on Friday last in Athlone Golf Club. We would also like to thank the Hodson Bay Hotel as main sponsors of our annual classic and everyone that sponsored a tee. Your continued support is greatly appreciated. We would also like to thank Supermac's for providing refreshments on the 13th hole and Athlone Golf club for hosting the event, the greenkeepers for having the course in such magnificent condition and the catering crew for the lovely meal afterwards. A special mention to P.J. Martin for organising and co-ordinating the classic, well done on a terrific job.

Junior League

St. Brigid's 1-12, Kilglass Gaels 0-16.

Our Snug sponsored junior a team were defeated by a point in Rooskey on Saturday evening last. The home side went in five points up at half time but Brigid's rallied in the second half and a goal from Kieran Kilkenny and from Gerry Dunning and Conor Gleeson gave us a four point lead heading into the last ten minutes. However Kilglass came back and defended well to finish with a single point victory.

Minor Boys Championship

St. Brigid's 2-9, Padraig Pearses 2-14.

Our minor side were defeated in Woodmount on Sunday last despite a strong first half. A lovely goal from Brian Stack in the opening minutes of the game and another goal from Brian Derwin gave us a comfortable lead going in at half time 2-5 to 1-4 up. The first fifteen minutes of the second half saw a much tighter game and after Pearses got their second goal they began to pull away finishing the game five points to the better.

Ladies Notes

RESULTS: Ladies Senior championship

Clann na Gael 5-11

The 3rd round of the senior championship between old rivals, took place last Saturday in Johnstown. Clann proving too strong for a weakened st Brigids team.

Our u8/10 girls teams took place in a blitz in cam centre last Saturday , the games were organised as part of the local Brideswell pattern festival. Teams from St Dominic's , Roscommon Gaels and Four roads took part, it was a very enjoyable evening, and well done to all the girls who took part, and thanks to the pattern committee for refreshments afterwards .
