(See sports section for full match report). A goal by Paul Daly deep into first half injury-time stretched Brigid’s lead to 2-8 to 1-6 at the interval and they powered to victory in the second-half. U-12s:  Congratulations are also in order for the Millmount Maintenance Services sponsored U-12s, who put in a magnificent all-round team performance over four games against quality opposition to win the Corofin tournament in Galway on Saturday last. After defeating host club Corofin and Killoe from Longford in the group games, they went on to defeat Castlebar in the semi-final, setting up an intriguing final against Corofin. The host club had the better of the exchanges in the first half and were leading 2-3 to 0-4 at half-time. St Brigid’s still had it all to do going into the closing stages, trailing by three points. However, Shane Cunnane followed up on his own free to find the net while another late converted free from the same player ensured a last-gasp victory for St. Brigid’s.
