U-10s: St  Brigid’s U-10s took part in their second ‘Go Games’ blitz which took place last  Saturday at the Clann na nGael club in Johnstown. The blitz also involved teams from St Dominics and St Ciarans. Well done to all the players for putting in a big effort in every game. Panel: Bryan Armstrong, Oisín Canny, Hugh Cunniffe, Ciarán Derwin, David Dolan, Adam Donovan, Brian Gonley, James Goose, James Halpin, Evan Harte, Liam Hennelly, Fionn McDonnell, Éanna McDonnell, Lorcan McDonnell, Eoin Reid, Matthew Samuels, Sol Trundle. Commiserations to the Community Games U-10 team who were narrowly defeated in the final by Drum on Sunday evening last in Ballyleague. Just two points separated the sides in the finish as Drum took the county title on a final scoreline of Drum 3-6, Kiltoom/Cam 2-7.  Earlier in the day, Kiltoom/Cam secured a place in the final after accounting for Boyle in the semi-final. Well done to all on a great effort and for getting so far in the competition. Community Games U-10 Panel: James Rourke, Shane Daly, Ronan Doyle, Daniel Meeley, Bobby Nugent, Thomas O’Brien, Conor Hand, Simon O'Boyle, Daniel Keenan, Kevin Derwin, Shane O'Boyle, Paddy Higgins, Harry Griselain, Oran Benton, Jamie Curley, Heather McGrane, Abbie Murray, Marian Nolan, Amy Gallagher, Aine McGrath. Cumann na mBunscol Primary Schools: The Curraghboy National School team had a comprehensive victory in the 2-teacher 7-a-side County Quarter Final against Ballinameen in Kiltoom last Wednesday afternoon, prevailing on a scoreline of 11-8 to 4-4. This was a superb all-round team performance with all members of the panel playing their part. Curraghboy got off to the ideal start with two goals in as many minutes, one from each of the midfielders Cormac Canny and Ruairdhí Fallon.  The first half continued in this vein with Curraghboy having established a large lead at half time. This gave team manager Ollie Connaughton the luxury of giving all of his panel members a game in the second half, all of whom impressed. They will now go onto to play Grange in the semi-final next week, time and venue to be confirmed. Panel: Carl Doran (c), Cormac Canny, Diarmuid Glynn, Michael Butler, Daniel Butler, Ruairdhí Fallon, Adam Samuels, Aaron Dolan, Luke Powell, Fionn McDonnell, Oisín McAuley, Áine Downey and Niamh Kenny. The Ballybay National School team will play their county semi-final against Boyle next Thursday evening at 4pm in Kilbride.
