Our Hodson Bay Hotel sponsored senior team recorded their second victory in the second round of the groups stages of the championship on Saturday evening last in Strokestown.  In a very tight game that saw Roscommon Gaels leading by a goal to no score in the first minute of the game, our lads fought back to ensure we were going in at half time a point up, 1-4 to 1-3.

U-12s: St Brigid’s staged a terrific fightback in the Division 1 league on Monday of last week away to a strong Padraig Pearses side in Woodmount. Trailing 2-9 to 2-1 at half-time after conceding wind advantage, St Brigid’s outscored Pearses 1-11 to 1-1 in the second half to take the points. It was a great team performance - well done to all. Squad v Pearses: Kevin Derwin, Adam Donovan, Shane Daly, Micheál Sugrue, James Goose, Daniel Meeley, Harry Griselain, Liam Hennelly, Brian Nestor, Thomas O'Brien, Ronan Doyle, Bobby Nugent, Daniel Keenan, Jamie Curley, Martin O’Grady, Oran Benton.

On the same day at the same venue, the Division 5 team also put in a great display against the home team. Panel v Pearses: Bryan Armstrong, Daniel Skene, Sol Trundle, Hughie Cunniffe, David Dolan, James Halpin, Shane O’Boyle, Simon O’Boyle, Matthew Samuels, Luke Whelan, Eoin Reid, Brendan Murphy. In the concluding stages of the Division 1 League competition, St Brigid’s were scheduled to face St Ciaran’s in a play-off on Monday, June 1st at 11 a.m. in Fuerty. The winners of this game qualify for the final while the losers face Padraig Pearses in a semi-final match-up. Finally, on Wednesday last in the Easyfix tournament, St Brigid’s secured a three point victory at home to St Gabriel’s. It wasn’t the best display by our players who looked very tired after playing a lot of games in recent weeks and we were thankful St Gabriel’s didn’t have their shooting boots on given they missed a huge amount of scores. However, St Brigid’s finally prevailed on a scoreline of 2-4 to 2-7.
