Sponsors night: A very successful reception night for the new sponsors of the six underage squads took place at the clubhouse on Thursday night last. The sponsorship has also allowed the Minor Board Committee to partially offset the cost of new training tops for each squad. The Minor Board Committee extends its deep appreciation to all the local companies and businesses who have sponsored the respective underage teams. They are as follows: U8s - Eamon O’Rourke Fireplaces; U10s - The Sheraton Hotel;  U12s - Millmount Maintenance Services;  U14s D&M O’Grady Builders; U16s - Derek Duggan Travel and U18s - Russell Brennan Keane.

U-16s: The Derek Duggan Travel sponsored U-16s are scheduled to play Padraig Pearses in the league this Wednesday, August 7th in Kiltoom. Hard luck to our players who featured in the Roscommon team against Sligo in the Ted Webb Shield Final on Sunday.

U-12s: The Millmount Maintenance Services sponsored U-12s travelled to Mayo Gaels near Claremorris on Saturday last and following three excellent performances, won the tournament in impressive style. The team had two comprehensive victories over Ballintubber and Tuam Stars in the earlier rounds to set up a final meeting with the host club. Mayo Gaels also impressed in the preliminary rounds but St Brigid’s continued their excellent form into the final and won by a comfortable margin in the finish. Congratulations to the squad and many thanks to Mayo Gaels for their kind hospitality on the day. Squad which featured against Mayo Gaels: Ruairdhí  Fallon, Liam Egan, Eoghan Derwin, Cormac Canny, Shane Cunnane, Luke Grieslain, Faolán Kennedy, Seán Trundle, Ciarán Quinn, Robbie Dolan, Shane Keenan, Ultan O’Rourke, Darragh Murray, Daniel McDermott, Evan Gallagher, Shane Kelly, Adam Samuels, Jack Schouler.

U-10s: The Sheraton Hotel sponsored U-10s resume training this Wednesday, August 7th, after a short break. It will mark the start of a busy period for the squad who will be facing into a full schedule of games. This will also include their next scheduled fixture in the Clann na nGael tournament against Athlone in the middle of this month.

Croke Park Tours: A series of Croke Park tours are being organised for  underage squads. The trips will be subsidised by the club and will consist of a tour of the stadium and museum (which includes a St Brigid’s section) followed by a meal. The subsidised price for players will be €10 while the charge for adults will be €20. Currently, the U-8s and U-10s have been booked in for tours on August 24th and 31st respectively. Parents will be notified of full details in due course.

Training Tops: Thanks to the generous sponsorship of local businesses, sets of new Adidas training tops are now available for each squad at a very competitive price. The tops are of a particularly high quality and have been used by our All-Ireland winning Senior Team over the past year. The training tops will be distributed through the respective managers.

Coaching camps: Following on from the success of the recent coaching camp for U-14s/U-16s and minors, further camps will be held for U-12s (August 17th), U-10s (August 24th – note date change from last week's notes) and U-8s (August 31st – note date change from last week's notes).
