St. Brigid’s GAA Club Annual Golf Classic 

The Hodson Bay hotel sponsored St. Brigid’s annual golf classic is on this Friday 18th July in Athlone Golf Club. 

This yearly event has proven to be an enjoyable day out for all patrons in the wonderful surroundings of Athlone Golf Club. If you would like to enter a team (timesheet in operation) or sponsor a tee, please contact P.J. Martin

on 086-8053037 or 090 6494402.  Entry fee for a team of 4 made up of men/women or mixed is €200 with a meal included. Sponsorship of a tee is €75. We would like to thank everyone that supported this event in the past and hope that you will continue to support us this year.

St. Brigid’s GAA Multi Sport Summer Camp

Venue: St. Brigid's GAA Club

Date week 1:  14th - 18th July

Date week 2:  21st - 25th July

Time: 9.30 am– 2.00 pm daily

Activities: The camp will include a variety of sports and other fun activities.

Cost per week: 1st child: €50, 2nd child €30 and Subsequent €20.

Children must be of school going age

Super Valu Kits for Clubs

 Throughout June and July Super Valu stores will be giving out vouchers with every €20 spent in their stores. In order for our club to available of the O'Neills training kit worth €1200 we need to collect 1000 vouchers. We are asking everyone that shops in Super Valu to please collect the tokens and pop them into the club boxes in store, so we can avail of this brilliant offer. Once again thank you for your continued support. 

 

Crime Fitness 

For women and men all fitness levels, it consists of Circuit training, Resistance training, Interval training, Military circuits and Endurance training. All newcomers are free on the first night and its 5 euro per session after that, pay as you go. Mondays and Thursday 7-8 pm in St. Brigids Clubhouse. ST BRIGIDS MINOR COMMITTEE NOTES WEEK ENDING JULY 6TH 2014

Minors: Best of luck to the St Brigid’s contingent of Shane Mannion, Brian Stack, Luke Carty and Conor Murray ahead of the Roscommon minors Connacht Final showdown with Mayo on Sunday in Castlebar.

U-14s: The U-14 Division 1 team put in an incredible shift in the second half of their championship game away to Oran on Thursday last to secure the points. Trailing by ten points at half-time, the team staged an amazing comeback, winning on a scoreline of 5-10 to 3-7. On the evening before, the U-14 Division 4 team put in a good performance in the championship but lost out narrowly away to St Michaels who prevailed by 6-6  to 4-6. Another Division 1 championship game is scheduled away to Strokestown on Thursday next while the Division 4 team are due to play Roscommon Gaels at home on the same evening.

U-12s: On Monday of last week in the Division 1 league, a strong second half showing and a flurry of goals ensured St Brigid’s got the better of a game St. Ciaran’s side in Kiltoom to win out on a scoreline of 7-8 to 2-5. Despite missing a few players and losing out narrowly, the Division 3 side put in an excellent second half performance on Sunday last away to Shannon Gaels. Staring into an eleven point deficit at half-time, the team put in a courageous display after the break, whittling down the lead to four points before time eventually ran out. Final scoreline: Shannon Gaels 4-12 St Brigid's 5-5.
