St. Brigid's GAA Club Notes 9th March 2014 


Congratulations to Grainne McDonnell on winning county title in recitation in scór sinsear On Saturday night last. She now competes in connacht finals on 22nd March.


Handball training is on every Sunday in Curraghboy handball complex and every Friday in St Brigids club Hall. 


8Yrs to 10Yrs - Boys and Girls,11am to 12 Noon (Curraghboy handball complex) 

11Yrs to 13Yrs - Boys and Girls, 12 Noon to 1pm (Curraghboy handball complex) 

11Yrs to 13Yrs - Boys and Girls, 7 – 8:30 (Fridays only – one wall - St Brigids club Hall) 


Please note that Handball goggles must be worn by all participating. New members always welcome.     


Nursery Programme

The nursery programme continues every Saturday at 11am in the clubhouse. New members welcome.

St. Brigid's GAA Club is delighted to announce that our weekly lotto is now available to play on-line, the jackpot, numbers and match three winners is all available also on this website.

Minor Committee Notes week ending Sunday, March 9th 2014

Minors: The squad’s first Division 1 league game of the season against St Ciarans fixed for last Wednesday has been rescheduled to take place on Good Friday.

U-16s: The U-16 squad’s first Division 1 league game scheduled against Roscommon Gaels on Sunday last was called off.

U-14s: The U-14 squad had a comprehensive win in a challenge game away to Moate on Thursday evening last. More challenges are being scheduled in the countdown to the start of the league in early April.

Meanwhile, training continues for teams at all grades.

Registration: The Minor Committee is encouraging all players to register before March 31st in order to be eligible and to be insured to play for their team. Registration forms can be downloaded from the home page of the club website. Club Registrar Anne Marie Murtagh can be contacted on(087) 9332954.

Commiserations to The Marist College senior team and their St Brigid’s contingent who were narrowly beaten by Dublin’s Coláiste Eoin in the Leinster A final in Croke Park on Saturday last. Hard luck also to St Aloysius College and their St Brigid’s representatives who were defeated in the Connacht B semi-final on Wednesday last by Holy Rosary College Mountbellew

St.Brigid’s Pieta House sponsored U16 Girls team were defeated by Roscommon Gales at home in the championship last Sunday 09/03/2014.

Team photographs

The Ladies Committee is aiming to put photographs of all winning Ladies teams down through the years on the clubhouse wall. Anyone who may be able to help with information on winning teams or may have photographs of relevant teams is asked to contact ladies Committee Chairman Tomás Beades.


Training continues for all grades from U8s to Senior. Players will be notified of any changes to normal training times. We are always welcoming new members. Training schedules or further information on St.Brigids Ladies GAA contact 086 0876933.

Training for U 14 and U 16 girls continues on Tuesday evening at 7:30 at pitch. Training for U 12 girls continue on Thursday evening at 8 at the clubhouse. Training for U8s & U10s continues on Monday evening at 6.30 at clubhouse.
