Minors: The RBK sponsored minor team’s unbeaten run in the championship came to end on Thursday last in Johnstown when they were defeated by Clann na nGael.

U-16s: The Duggan Coaches sponsored U-16s are scheduled to play Clann na nGael in the Division 1 championship this Tuesday evening, August 19th, at 7pm.

U-12s: The Millmount sponsored U-12s teams were in action this weekend as the league competitions resumed. On Sunday last, the Division 1 team put in a good performance against a plucky St Ciaran’s in Kiltoom. St Brigid’s led 3-9 to 2-4 at half-time and while the St Ciaran’s never gave up, the U-12s pulled away in the last ten minutes to prevail on a 8-14 to 5-8 scoreline. On Saturday morning last, the Division 5 team lost out to visitors St Croan’s in a very well contested game. St Brigid’s were leading at the break by two points but a couple of unfortunate goals early in the second half put St Croan’s in the driving seat. St Brigid’s continued to work hard but couldn’t manage to close the gap. Final scoreline: St Croan’s 7-10, St Brigid’s 5-7. Players will be notified of details of upcoming league games this week.

U-10s: The Sheraton Hotel sponsored U-10s took part in an enjoyable Go Games blitz on Saturday last in Ballyleague against host team St Faithleachs. The panel of players will now be preparing for an important game against Padraig Pearses in the Clann na nGael tournament, scheduled for Monday week in Woodmount.

U-8s: The O’Rourke Fireplaces sponsored U-8s had a good work-out in challenge games against Athlone in Kiltoom on Saturday last. GAA President Liam O’Neill, who officially opened the walkway that morning, was very impressed with the talent on show. The panel of players will now feature in a Go Games blitz on Saturday morning next in Kiltoom.
