Minors:  Commiserations to the RBK sponsored St Brigid’s minor team who were defeated by Clann na nGael in the Division 1 Minor Championship Final on Sunday last at Hyde Park. The players showed plenty of character and refused to yield in very difficult circumstances. Final scoreline: Clann na nGael 1-13, St Brigid’s 2-6. Team and scorers: Shane Mannion, Conor McNiece, Brian Stack (0-1), Alan Daly, Luke Carty, Martin Nolan, Robbie Fallon(1-0), Conor Murray, EamonCunnane, Jimmy Curley, Conor Gleeson,  Ryan Jinks, Jack McDonnell (1-3 two frees), John Cunningham (0-1, free),  Conor Quinn (0-1). Subs. used George O'Hara (22 mins); Paul Daly (46 mins); Ciaran Walsh (48mins); Ross Flanagan (59 mins). See the sports section for a full report.

U-14s: Well done to the Homewatch sponsored U-14s who have qualified for the County U-13 Féile Final following a comprehensive victory away to Oran on Saturday morning last. With the aid of a strong wind, Oran put it up to St Brigid’s in the first half and were trailing by just two points, 1-6 to 1-4, ten minutes from half-time. But three quick goals from St Brigid’s in this short period put them into a commanding lead at the break, 4-7 to 1-5. St Brigid’s made full use of the strong wind in the second half and ran out very comfortable winners in the end. Team: Jack Schouler, Liam Egan, Luke Grieslan, Ben O’Carroll,Darragh Murray, Robbie Dolan, Ciarán Quinn, Shane Cunnane, Cormac Canny, Danny McDonnell, Shane Kelly, Eoghan Derwin, RuaidhríFallon. Subs used. Adam Lennon, Seán Trundle, Fergus O’Sullivan,Faolán Kennedy, Jack Ryan, Brian Monaghan. Subs. Ultan O’Rourke, Luke O’Rourke, Gavin Daly, Shane Keenan,  Michael Butler, Daniel Butler, Evan Gallagher, Adam Samuels. St Brigid’s are now scheduled to play St Dominic’s in the County Féile Final on Saturday next, October 25th, venue to be decided. St Dominic’s defeated Tulsk in the other semi-final, also played on Saturdaylast. Best of luck to the St Brigid’s management and panel in the final.

U-12s: It was heartbreak for the Millmount sponsored U-12 team who were pipped at the post by St Aidan’s in the Division 3 league final on Fridayevening last in Ballyforan. Final scoreline: St Aidan’s 3-9, St Brigid’s 3-7. Both teams served up a tremendous game of football in atrocious weather conditions and St Brigid’s certainly didn’t get the rub of the green on the night. But for a host of missed goal chances, the help of the crossbar and some brilliant goalkeeping by the St Aidan’s goalkeeper, this could have been a different story. It was nip and tuck for much of the game and the home side led at the break by 1-6 to 1-4. Aidan’s went four ahead with ten minutes to go but Brigid’s never gave up but unfortunately couldn’t bridge the scoring gap as time ran out. It was a tremendous effort by the whole team and panel who have showed wonderful dedication all year. Team: Harry Grieslan, Shane Daly, Adam Donovan, Daniel Meeley, Micheál Sugrue, Thomas O’Brien, Brian Nestor, Daniel Keenan, Conor Hand, Oisín Canny, Ronan Doyle. Subs. used: Aaron Dolan, Fergal Cunniffe, Kevin Derwin. Subs. James Goose, Liam Hennelly, James O’Rourke, Oran Benton, Jamie Curley.
